Speciale Swim School Terms & Conditions

Please read the following policies carefully before completing your registration.

1. Assumption of Risk

Participation in swimming lessons and water activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, falls, injuries, or drowning. By enrolling a child in lessons with Speciale Swim School, parents or guardians acknowledge and accept the risks associated with water activities and voluntarily permit their child to participate in all swimming instruction and related activities.

2. Liability Waiver

By registering for lessons, parents agree to release and hold harmless Speciale Swim School, its owners, instructors, assistants, and staff (including Michael and Andrew) from any claims, injuries, damages, or liabilities that may arise from participation in swimming lessons or while on the premises where lessons are conducted. While instructors provide supervision and instruction, accidents may still occur, and risks cannot be entirely eliminated.

3. Supervision Responsibility

Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their child before and after the scheduled lesson time. Speciale Swim School instructors are responsible for swimmers only during the swimmer's scheduled lesson time in the water.

4. Health & Medical Authorization

Parents confirm that their child is physically able to participate in swimming lessons and agree to inform instructors of any medical conditions, allergies, or special considerations that may affect the swimmer during lessons. In the event of an emergency, parents authorize Speciale Swim School instructors or staff to seek medical assistance for their child if a parent or guardian cannot be reached immediately.

5. Make-Up & Attendance Policy

Each swimmer is permitted a maximum of two make-up lessons per session, provided the request is made at least 24 hours in advance and the requested time is available. Additional missed lessons beyond the allotted make-ups must be purchased as single lessons at the applicable per-lesson rate for the swimmer's package.

6. Refund Policy

All lesson packages are final sale and non-refundable once registration has been confirmed. Speciale Swim School does not offer refunds for missed lessons due to absence, illness, or scheduling conflicts.

7. Instructor Substitution Policy

Speciale Swim School has two instructors, Michael and Andrew. Parents may request a preferred instructor; however, substitutions may occur due to illness, scheduling conflicts, or unforeseen circumstances. If a parent chooses to move a lesson because their preferred instructor is unavailable, the change will count as one of the swimmer's allotted make-up lessons unless the preferred instructor has been absent three or more times, in which case a complimentary make-up lesson may be granted.

8. Weather Cancellation Policy

Swimming lessons may continue during light rain if temperatures are warm and there is no thunder or lightning present. Lessons will be cancelled or postponed if conditions are deemed unsafe, including thunder or lightning, heavy rain affecting visibility or safety, or temperatures below 17°C. If a lesson is cancelled due to weather, the class will be rescheduled during the designated make-up period at the end of the season, subject to instructor availability. Weather-related cancellations do not count toward a swimmer's personal make-up lesson limit. If a weather make-up lesson cannot be scheduled, parents may request a 50% refund for that lesson at the end of the season.
